Innovation Takes Flight: The Story of Kunwer Sachdev’s LED Revolution
In the early days of inverter technology, LED indicators were anything but inspiring—dull, basic, and limited to showing the bare minimum. They were functional, yes, but far from innovative. Back then, no one imagined these small lights could be transformed into something more—until Kunwer Sachdev came along.

Kunwer, often traveling between cities for work, found himself frequently aboard Air India flights. On these journeys, something caught his attention—the airplane’s LED display system. Simple, yet brilliantly designed, these multipurpose indicators could convey several messages at once: seatbelt signs, call buttons, no-smoking warnings, and more. They were clear, efficient, and aesthetically pleasing.
One day, mid-flight, Kunwer had a thought that would change the inverter industry forever: Why not use a similar LED system for inverters? If airplanes could communicate so much through compact, bright indicators, why couldn’t inverters do the same for battery status, charging, and alerts?
Determined to bring his vision to life, Kunwer returned and immediately shared his idea with his engineering team. They began R&D, but the path was not easy. The technology used in aircraft was different, and adapting it to inverter systems was a challenge.

Fate, however, had a helping hand. Kunwer had a friend in the aviation department, and upon hearing his idea, the friend arranged for an actual LED circuit system from a plane to be sent to Kunwer for research. It was a small but vital step that brought the dream closer to reality.
With the circuit in hand, Kunwer’s team went to work. The first attempt failed. The second attempt failed. The third attempt… also failed. But giving up was never in Kunwer’s nature. On their fourth try, after countless late nights and problem-solving breakthroughs, they finally succeeded. The first inverter with an advanced, multipurpose LED indication system was born.
It was a quiet revolution. Customers loved it. Dealers admired it. Competitors… noticed it. The design quickly became a sensation, setting a new industry standard. But in his humility, Kunwer never patented his innovation. That decision, while noble, meant that soon every manufacturer in the industry copied the design. What began as Kunwer’s unique idea became the norm across the market.

Yet, for those who know the story, the legacy remains clear—this transformation started with one man’s vision on a quiet flight, a borrowed circuit from a friend, and an unyielding belief that even the smallest details can elevate an entire industry.
Kunwer Sachdev didn’t just innovate LED indicators—he redefined how the industry thought about communication, design, and user experience. And though his idea now lights up countless inverters around the world, the spark that ignited it will always be his.
