Walking on Fire – A Training Day to Remember at Su-Kam

One of the most unforgettable aspects of working at Su-Kam was the kind of outdoor training programs we experienced—programs that weren’t just about learning, but about transforming mindsets. These weren’t your average corporate workshops; they were bold, experiential journeys designed to push our boundaries. At the heart of this culture was Mr. Kunwer Sachdev, Founder of Su-Kam—a man whose dynamic leadership and infectious energy turned every challenge into an opportunity for growth.

Kunwer Sachdev wasn’t just the visionary behind Su-Kam’s technology and business innovation—he was the soul of the organization. A natural motivator and an exceptional trainer, he believed that real learning happens when people step outside their comfort zones. Whether it was a sales strategy session or a team-building activity, he made sure people weren’t just attending—they were evolving.

In one such training camp, an experience etched permanently in my memory took place. After a long, intense day of activities led by different professionals brought in from across the country, we were informed that the final challenge of the day involved walking barefoot on a burning bed of coal.

Naturally, fear crept in. People hesitated. The thought of walking over red-hot embers seemed insane. And that’s when Kunwer sir, as always, did what only he could do—he stepped forward without hesitation and walked across the fire.

He got slightly burned that first time—his feet had blisters. But instead of stopping, he ran across it again, with even more conviction. He knew that what people needed in that moment wasn’t just instruction—they needed an example. His fearlessness lit a fire in all of us—not on the coal bed, but in our minds and hearts.

His charisma was unmatched—not the kind that came from a title, but the kind that came from courage, presence, and authenticity. Under his leadership, fear gave way to confidence. One after another, we all walked across the fire. Around 40 of us, including many of the women participants, conquered that moment. What started as fear turned into celebration. People were cheering, high-fiving, hugging—it was a breakthrough we all shared.

That day wasn’t about physical endurance. It was about overcoming the limits we set for ourselves. And none of it would’ve happened if Kunwer Sachdev hadn’t shown us how it’s done—not just by leading from the front, but by leading with heart.

This wasn’t an isolated incident either. It was a reflection of who he was—a bold experimenter, a constant learner, and a leader who truly believed in the potential of his people. Whether it was building cutting-edge technology, redefining the power backup industry, or turning corporate training into life-changing experiences, Kunwer Sachdev always had a unique way of doing things—unconventional, impactful, and unforgettable.

Working under his leadership didn’t just make us better professionals—it made us braver individuals.
